In 1881, Ernest F Pflueger established the Enterprise Manufacturing Company and began the manufacturer of fishing hooks. Enterprise Manufacturing became the E. A. Pflueger Company in 1916 when Ernest A Pflueger assumed the reigns of the family business and expanded the line to include all types of fishing gear. The Pflueger name was launched into fishing history as the maker of the finest fishing reels in the country.
