Each year the rods became more specialized in detail, from the RP to the Graphite II to the Graphite III RPL fly rods the performance standard of fly rods was raised by Green and Sage. Then came the saltwater anglers that were built for line weights 8-12 and became one of the finest casters in the world. Sage even came up with a line of spey and a European-style double handed rods.
